What I Wear When Photographing The Northern Lights
The green arc of the Northern Lights shines above a "Flag Tree" at the edge of the Arctic in Churchill, Manitoba. In this harsh windswept land many of the trees are only able to grow branches on the downwind side of their trunks.Photography Tip: The new localized Dehaze feature in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC 2015.2.1 made this image pop. I was able to bring out so much more color and drama than ever before in the sky by utilizing the new Dehaze feature inside of Lightroom CC's Graduated Filter. For my complete tutorial on the making of this image, and some of the other incredible uses for the new localized Dehaze options in Lightroom CC 2015.2.1, see http://bit.ly/localizeddehazeIf you would like to learn how to shoot images like this one please join me this winter for my Night Skies and the Northern Lights Photography Workshop up at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre.
